The kimono style jacket/coat - Saturday 27th November 9am-5pm

This Japanese kimono style jacket can be made in any of three lengths from boxy jacket to below hip length coat. It has large pockets, a folding collar band and is lined for a luxury feel. Suitable for a huge range of fabrics it can be made as a light summer jacket or warm winter wool coat or can also be made as a very versatile reversible jacket. It has no fastenings but meets at the centre front.
This workshop is suitable for anyone who has a little experience of sewing and using their sewing machine. The pattern in your chosen size will be available on the day and all tuition is provided from cutting out to finishing.
Just bring fabric, thread and a sewing machine
In this 8 hour workshop you will cut out and make your jacket using simple straight stitch with no seam finishing necessary.
Suitable for beginners (with a basic knowledge of using a sewing machine) to intermediate sewers.
In this workshop you will learn how to place your pattern pieces, cut out fabric and construct your jacket. The workshop will cover all techniques needed to make the jacket, although it may need to be finished at home.
You will need to bring:
• a sewing machine
• your fabric and matching thread
• basic sewing kit - pins, scissors etc.
